Question: What are visiting hours and where do I park? Answer: At Halifax Medical Center we know how
important it can be for our patients to have the love and support of their family members while they are in the
hospital. In general, visiting hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., however, hours and restrictions vary depending on where the patient is staying and the type of care he or she is receiving. Please check with the nursing staff for specific information. You may inquire about a patient's room number and condition by dialing 386-254-4145. Parking is available in designated areas in front of the hospital and hospital courtesy carts provide daily transporation Monday through Friday from the parking lots to the front door.
Question: What can family members do if they can't find or afford overnight accomodations? Answer:

Question: Can I send flowers to a patient at Halifax Medical Center? Answer: Yes. Here are some tips:
Check with an immediate family member or family spokesperson to find out if the patient welcomes flowers, and when it is appropriate to send them.
If the patient is undergoing a procedure, is in surgery and/or recovery, or is admitted to one of the intensive care units for example, they will not be able to receive flowers.
Ask the family if they know how long the patient is expected to stay in the hospital. If there is a chance the patient could be released shortly, it might be more appropriate to have the flowers delivered
to where the patient resides.
Provide the florist with the correct spelling of the patient’s full name.
Want to be extra considerate? Ask the florist to limit the quantity of very fragrant blooms in the bouquet. A very strong floral scent, especially in close quarters, can sometimes be overwhelming for
someone who is not feeling his or her best.
Question: Why can’t I get a patient’s room number over the phone? Answer: For security reasons we will not provide a patient’s room number to anyone over the phone.
However, when provided with a complete patient name, we can confirm whether or not a person is listed in the patient directory at the time of the call. In light of the general tightening of security procedures in the aftermath of 9/11, and in keeping with our implementation of Homeland Security recommendations for major hospitals, we will continue to implement visitor control at Halifax Medical Center. While we will try to assure any inconveniences due to these efforts are minimal, we believe that the safety of our patients and care teams more than makes them worthwhile.
