Wrong. If anything, it costs the citizens who serve on the two hospital district boards and join with medical staff representatives to make up the System board. They are appointed by the Governor, but
most are better known for business and civic success than political involvement, and all are prohibited by law from receiving compensation of any kind for their service. All of their meetings are open to
public under Florida's Sunshine laws and public participation is available and invited at those meetings.
