The Halifax Community Health System Foundation was founded in 1988 to expressly develop philanthropic support, a high level of understanding, community involvement, and charitable contributions and other benefits to Halifax Medical Center.

The mission of the Halifax Community Health System Foundation is to support state-of-the-art healthcare for present & future generations in our community through:
- Highly trained & caring people
- Modern, efficient facilities
- Cutting-edge procedures, equipment & technologies
It is incorporated under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code and is the official charitable gift receiving agency of Halifax Medical Center, which uses philanthropy and charitable gifts to supplement health services for the community.
