Halifax Community Health System was selected as Corporate Champion of the Year among the Orlando Sentinel’s 2007 Top 100 Companies for Working Families in Central Florida at the Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando on Friday, August 3.
As the highest honor among the awards given, Corporate Champion of the Year is presented to the company that scores the most points in the final round of judging that determines the Top 25, which are the only organizations ranked among the Top 100. During the last four years, Halifax Community Health System has worked its way up from 24th place to first place.
“This recognition is an honor that every member of our health system should be proud of,” said Al Alexander, Chief Human Resources Officer, Halifax Community Health System. “It is because of the tremendous commitment and dedication of our team members that we have been able to consistently rank among the best employers in Central Florida. We recognize the importance of a talented and compassionate workforce and every one of us is truly blessed to have exceptional team members working alongside us every day.”
The 2007 Top 100 Companies for Working Families were chosen from an application completed by a company representative familiar with the company’s benefits. The application asked a series of questions used to determine what benefits are provided to the company’s employees in the following categories: Core Benefits, Family Related Benefits, Work Environment, Communication, Training and Planning and Supporting Documents.
“This achievement further solidifies our status among the elite employers in the region. Our rich tradition and state-of-the-art technology allow us to recruit and retain some of the finest talent in the healthcare industry, which in turn provides for a very rewarding and fulfilling work environment,” said Jeff Feasel, President and CEO, Halifax Community Health System. “At Halifax Community Health System, our culture and compassion is remarkable and I do not believe that you will find a more dedicated group of team members anywhere in the country.”
With more than 5,600 employees, Halifax Community Health System was in the large company category.
